The parts of a school nobody advertises
Written down plainly, because a parent deciding between schools deserves to compare this as easily as they compare fees.
Collection
Children are released only to a parent or to a named adult on the collection list. If someone else is coming, tell us in advance — we will ask, every time, and we would rather be awkward than wrong.
A secure site
The garden is fully walled and the gate is closed and supervised through the day. The road outside is quiet and wide, which makes drop-off calmer than most.
Illness
Children with a fever, sickness or anything infectious need to stay at home until they are clear. It is inconvenient for one family, and it stops twenty families being inconvenienced.
First aid and emergencies
Staff are first-aid trained and we hold emergency contacts and medical information for every child. Parents are called immediately for anything beyond a scraped knee.
Water safety
Swimming lessons are supervised throughout, at ratios appropriate to the age of the children in the water.
Sun and heat
Outdoor time is scheduled to avoid the hottest part of the day, shade is available throughout the garden, and water is within reach all day.
